As many of our clients are aware, SmartVet is experiencing a significant backlog in scheduling routine wellness care appointments. We are currently scheduling routine wellness care 6 to 8 weeks out. We understand this can be frustrating for you when you call to make an appointment. We are working hard to get caught up on skipped appointments due the pandemic and providing care to new pets that were adopted during the stay-at-home phase. This backlog is not unique to SmartVet. It is happening nationwide.

We are reaching out to our wonderful clients to let you know how you can help.

Starting in August, when we contact you to confirm your appointment via a combination of call, text and email, we request that you please respond to confirm your appointment. You may use the communication method of your choice (call, text, or email) to confirm or cancel your appointment.


If the appointment is not confirmed, we will automatically cancel it at 6pm the business day prior and open it up to a client on our waiting list. If you cancel the same day or you do not show for your appointment you will be required to pre-pay to make future appointments.


Please remember that sick patients or patients with a medical issue will be scheduled in a timely manner and we do not expect you or your pet to wait 6 to 8 weeks to be seen for their medical issue. This backlog pertains to wellness care only.
